It’s Friday!

This was Hobbes & Merlin this week…just substitute “dead mouse” for “broken terrarium”…sigh. Gotta say, Merlin is blowing through those 9 lives of his pretty fast!

Don’t forget today is the last day to take advantage of free shipping! Have a great weekend everyone.

Friday LOL and Butterfly Stained Glass Sparkle Card

freezing-here-cats-36122244-600-410

Happy Friday! Is it cold where you are? I’ve been wrapped in fuzzy blankets for so long I’m sure I know exactly what a caterpillar in a cocoon feels like! Speaking of caterpillars…check out this new butterfly card! (See what I did there? They call me the Queen of Segues!)

Photos don’t capture how very pretty this card sparkles. I got the idea for this after seeing a Christmas card on Jan Tink’s blog. Here’s a closeup:

I’ll keep you in suspense for my video next week to show you how I did it. Mwa ha ha. (That’s my evil laugh!) I’ll list the supplies below…betcha you can figure it out!

Simple Envelope Gift Card Holder

Happy Friday everyone! Here’s another super-quick idea to dress up presents of gift cards or money, using the envelope liner thinlits.

2014-12-19 10.29.24

I was going to do a video, and then realized this was so simple I could just show you in a few photos.

Using one sheet of the Trim the Tree DSP paper pack and the smallest size of envelope thinlits, cut out two pieces in your Big Shot. It’s tight, but you can get both from a single sheet.

Fold back the flap on one to show the pattern on the opposite side of the paper.

Run some Tombow glue around the back side of the folded piece. Go around the very edges on 3 sides, leaving the folded edge free of glue.

Stick down and add some ribbon.

Grab an image & greeting from whatever stamp set you have piled up on your disaster of a desk (seriously! don’t spend hours searching for the “perfect” stamp) and cut it out with a punch/die/scissors. Add your gift card/money and call it DONE!

I got the idea for these on Patty Bennett’s blog. Click here to see her awesome examples, she uses a larger envelope size.

…and it’s Friday!

Our Christmas tree is not faring well under the machinations of Merlin the Kitten. To date, he has not managed to pull the whole thing down, but I suspect it is only a matter of time!

Get Your Santa On!

The title of this stamp set makes me smile. Now that we’re in December, it’s certainly time to think of all things Christmas. This is when I switch gears and set aside the stamping stuff and become a musician again. I’ve got lots of concerts to perform in the next few weeks and I just love it.

Don’t worry, I have lots of easy projects to share in the next few weeks to help dress up your gift giving. There might even be a video or two!

Once all the flute-ing is done, I’ll be up to my ears in new product from the Occasions catalogue that I got to preorder today. Squee is all I can say for now!

Here’s today’s card. Colouring the Santa suit was easy with the new Blendabilities markers. The camera couldn’t catch it, but the white trim is all sparkly thanks to some Dazzling Details. A bit of gold washi tape, a gold foil star, and embossed stars bring the rest of the card together. Super cute!

…and it’s Friday! We plan to put up the tree this weekend, and I’m more than a little worried about how Merlin the kitten will react!

Fall For You and Lolcat Friday

We have had some absolutely beautiful fall days here, so I wanted to do another card using the Fun Fall framelits. I’ve been using the new In Colors to death, so went a little deeper this time with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Always Artichoke. The full list of supplies are down below, and I’ll post a video tutorial on Monday.

…and it’s Friday! It was crazy windy last night, so we’ve got more than a few leaves to rake this weekend.

Spooky Boo and LOLCat (on me!) Friday

So you may have noticed I haven’t gotten much stamping posted this week…this is the reason why:

2014-10-10 09.47.26

This little guy came running into my yard while I was working in the garden on Sunday. All alone. No mom cat or owner in sight. As the temperature around here has been well below freezing at night, I simply could. not. ignore him. Sooo… the kids and I bundled him up in a towel and brought him down to my studio for some food and a warm place to sleep. We contacted all the local societies, lost and found boards, and canvassed the neighbourhood, but so far nothing.

Needless to say, I have gotten zero done in my studio because all this little guy wants to do is cuddle and play. *sigh* Yep. I’ve got “sucker” stamped all over my forehead. He’s also already gotten that great cat habit of putting himself precisely between you and whatever you are trying to work on.

2014-10-10 10.20.55

I did manage to bring some stuff upstairs and get this card done. I’ll have a video tutorial on Monday (with maybe a surprise guest star!)

2014-10-10 10.31.51

Hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving weekend and I’ll keep you posted if my studio permanently adds more whiskers to the mix!
